VirtualCAD Offers Free 3D CAD Models of Engineered Fasteners

BARRIE, ON, Canada , May 17, 2004 – VirtualCAD Inc. has just added high-detail 3D CAD Models for EngineeredFasteners to their growing FREE CAD library and Manufacturer Part Number Interchange. Socket Head Cap Screws, Shoulder Screws, Flat and Button Head Screws, Set Screws, Pressure Plugs, Dowel Pins, etc, have all been added in Inch and Metric sizes.

VirtualCAD has recognized that many Users need the highest detail models that they can find, while others are concerned with the increased file size that detailed models bring. To address this, an interface was created which allows the User to select the level of detail he needs in the model. Knurls can be turned off and/or the threads can be reset from ‘Circular’ to model the ‘Major Diameter’ only. This can considerably decrease the file size without losing the accuracy of the major exterior dimensions.

Like all VirtualCAD models, the Engineered Fasteners are all etched with the manufacturer name and part number in a convenient spot for reference. Many also have the part size etched on them. The 3D CAD models of these parts and many more can be found at: www.VirtualCAD.com
